Inside Darley April 2019 FDIC Sneak Preview, visit us in Booth #3721

Hi, I’m Paul Darley, thanks for coming to watch the April issue of Inside Darley.

It is going to be an excellent show for Darley. We will be in booth #3721, and we plan on having some great pumps, equipment, and innovations to show off. Our first attachment the Spring/Summer Darley Times is a good preview of what you can expect to see. In the Darley Times, we talk about our work with FEMA and our residential sprinkler systems, robotics and decontamination. At the show, you can expect to see solutions to the most common problems in the fire industry. We will have the latest drones including the Matrice 210 V2, Darley boxed water, our Flaim Trainer System and more. One of the more unique offerings we will have this year is a Polaris UTV, it’s one of only four made so far. If you have any questions or need more information visit our FDIC page.

Cancer in the fire industry is a pressing issue that needs to be addressed. Our second attachment is the Lavender Ribbon Report Best Practices for Preventing Firefighter Cancer by the International Fire Chiefs Association and the National Volunteer Fire Council. The report details 11 best practices to reduce exposure to dangerous chemicals. All 11 of these practices are practical and can be done after a fire incident has concluded. Cancer in the fire industry is an important issue that everyone should work to reduce and keep firefighters safe.

The third attachment comes from the DHS Science and Technology. It’s a summary of some of the PPE technology that has advanced in the past 5 years. The attachment talks about Advanced Multi-purpose Base Ensembles for emergency responders, structure gloves, and improved smoke and particulate resistant turnout gear. The summary does a great job of explaining just how much has changed in 5 years and helps put into perspective what the future might bring.

For over 100 years Darley has worked in the public safety industry. Over that time, we were involved in the Defense industry when needed. In the past decade we’ve built up our defense division and in late March Darley was awarded a contract with the Federal Defense Logistics Agency, which is our 4th attachment. The contract is worth a potential $985 million if all 5 years are exercised. It’s not something that is easily awarded, but I believe our strong ethical background was what propelled us over the finish line.

Finally, we will be sponsoring the DoD portion of FDIC. If you need more information on this part of the show reach out to Tom Wade TomWade@Darley.com.

Thanks for tuning in to this issue of Inside Darley, if there is anything we can be doing to assist you we hope you reach out to us.
