Hi, I’m Paul Darley and thanks for tuning into our March and April issue of Inside Darley.
You know, it’s hard to believe that the FDIC, that’s the Fire Department Instructors Conference, our major trade show of the year for our fire customers, is only 5 weeks away. That’s going to be held down in Indianapolis, April 10th to the 12th. We invite you to stop by our booth. We’re in 3657, the same location where we historically are.
We’ve attached for you here a copy of our Spring/Summer issue of the Darley Times newsletter. On pages two and three, you’ll see some of the new products that we’re introducing, including air primers for our pumps, a new electric-powered pump developed for the US Coast Guard with firefighting applications, a new 40 horsepower Vanguard portable pump, low-cost extrication tools, and a new low-cost virtual reality firefighting system that is user-friendly and easy to integrate into your department.
On page five of our newsletter, you’ll see an announcement about Bruce Ireland being named Director of North American Fire Pump Sales. Congratulations to Bruce! Our customers just love him; he’s very professional with a great disposition. On page seven of our newsletter, we’ve given you some information on our pump school, now called the Darley Pump Academy, which takes place in Chippewa Falls, WI. These sessions are always held the first week of May and the first week of October. The next one will be held May 6th through the 8th in Chippewa Falls. It’s a free school.
Darley probably builds as many skid units or fast attack units as anyone in North America. We recently sent an email to all our customers about a federal funding grant for $20 million to be used for slip-on tanker units. Although the grant program has closed, if you were fortunate to get a grant, reach out to Darley or go to darley.com/what-we-provide/pumps/skid-units/. We can build you a quick unit very competitively and quickly. It will be interesting to see if this grant, as well as others, survive the current administration’s initiatives. It’s probably more important than ever to communicate with our legislators. In fact, James Long, our President of our Defense Division and Head of our Equipment Division, was recently in Washington, DC for Hill Day.
On June 5th, in Chicago, we will be hosting the 19th annual Illinois Fire Service Home Day at NIPSTA, the Northern Illinois Public Safety Training Center in Glenview, IL. We invite you to come by.
For our defense customers, we’ve attached some information on our TAGRS, a tactical aviation ground refueling system we’re building under a large contract for the US Marine Corps. We’ve also attached an article about how this TAGRS system can refuel an F35 fighter jet within 5 minutes. We’ve received great interest not only from the Marine Corps but also from the Air Force, Army, and others.
Thanks for tuning into this issue of Inside Darley. If there’s anything we can do to support you, we hope you’ll reach out to us.
