John Long Retires After 36 Years
After a remarkable 36 years, John Long, Chief Information Officer, has retired from Darley. His journey with the company started with summer internships and transitioned into full-time roles in 1989, spanning locations in Melrose Park, IL, and Chippewa Falls, WI, before coming to an end in late 2025.
Throughout his career at Darley, John played a key role in numerous major projects, such as achieving CMMC C3PAO certification Level 2 and upgrading JDE R25. He partnered with hundreds of colleagues over the years and actively contributed to operational milestones including facility expansions, acquisitions, ERP transitions, and significant upgrades to company systems and infrastructure.
Chippewa Falls became deeply meaningful to John, both professionally and personally. It’s where he met his wife, gave back to his church community, and mentored young people through Big Brothers–Big Sisters.
“Thanks again to each of you. It’s been a great ride. I wish all of you the best.” John said on his last day. From all of us at Darley, thank you for everything, John!
