Inside Darley November 2017

Hi I’m Paul Darley, thanks for coming to watch our November 2017 edition of Inside Darley.

We are just back from the FAMA/FEMSA Annual Conference in Arizona. It’s always a fantastic conference and if you’re not already a member of either organization and you’re in the fire industry I can’t recommend them highly enough. Jeff Darley who heads our manufacturing operations currently serves on the board of FAMA, and James Long who runs our equipment division serves on the FEMSA board.

Among many great presentation was a slideshow on current economic trends and what they mean for our industry by long time FAMA/FEMSA presenter Anirban Basu. He’s been kind enough to let me share this with you here as our first attachment.

Looking at economic data is really captivating, and takes a good storyteller to make it interesting. Storytelling is an essential skill for anyone in business and to help you improve I’ve attached an article from the Northwestern University Kellog School of Business entitled Take 5: How to Tell a Great Story.

If you’re looking for some other good business insights my book SOLD! will be released on Black Friday, November 24th. You can preorder here now on eDarley.com.

While you’re there ordering have a look around the all new and redesigned eDarley.com. We’ve added tons of great new features designed to make using the site for business easier including SKU based ordering and custom pricing for approved accounts. Click here to request a business account and get started.

You may have seen some other recent news about Darley’s clean water efforts in Puerto Rico. We recently successfully dropped pallets of bag in box water as part of relief efforts there. Amazing story that one of our employees Armando has family there that received one of the boxes.

Finally want to mention what a pleasure it was to see everyone at the AUSA conference in October. Darley Defense had another successful show there thanks to our staff, many of whom are veterans. If you’re a veteran we also want to extend our warmest wishes and thank you for your service on this coming Veteran’s Day November 11th.

As always thank you for watching and if there is anything we can be doing to assist you please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Paul
