We are extremely proud of the team we’ve built here at Darley. From long time staffers like Reg Darley who just retired after 66 years to brand new millennials we are constantly adding the best and brightest to Team Darley. We’re also proud of the environment here at Darley and recently received the highest ever employee approval ratings in the history of the company.
If you’re in charge of staffing at a fire department, you’ll definitely want to read our first attachment. An article from earlier this year in the Wall Street Journal entitled “Firehouses Raise the Alarm Over Lack of Young Recruits”; it’s got some detailed numbers on the aging firefighting workforce and the challenges facing fire departments in hiring young recruits.
Also attached is a great article by Lolly Dasker from her blog. Lolly is a well known and respected leadership consultant and in this article she shares ‘6 Mantras That Will Set You Apart as a Genuine Leader”.
Lastly I’m attaching some more food for thought from the Havard Business Review. This one’s called “If Employees Don’t Trust You It’s Up To You To Fix It”.
As spring fire season approaches, we thought we’d take a minute to tell you about our Off The Shelf Program. We maintain a large inventory of portable pumps in stock for immediate delivery. Jim Darley joins me this month to talk a little about that.
