Hi, I’m Paul Darley, thanks for coming to watch the April issue of Inside Darley.
Everyone here at Darley is hard at work with FDIC right around the corner. We are going to be at Booth 3721 and we are going to have a lot of interesting things to show. If you have a chance you should visit Our FDIC this page for a sneak peek at what we’re bringing to the show. One of the things we are most excited to be showing is the FLAIM System. The FLAIM System is a Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality Firefighting Simulator. With how difficult it can be to get live fires to train in, the FLAIM System will give firefighters an additional way to train. Firefighters using the FLAIM System will be able to compare their performance to other firefighters. We think this system could revolutionize how firefighters train in the future.
If you haven’t seen it yet we’ve also put out the Spring issue of Darley Times which is our first attachment. Our first page goes through the FLAIM System. The next page talks about our Pump sales and our We-Switched Campaign. The campaign focuses on departments that have switched to Darley pumps in the past few years, if your department switched recently, reach out to us we would love to include you in our promotion. We’ve had a great start to the year and hope to keep this momentum going. The EPA’s recent changes to diesel engines have caused a bit of a stir in the industry. One of Darley’s senior Engineers, Tim Dewitz, has a great comprehensive answer to the most common questions in this issue. He explains what will happen to diesel pumps and everything you need to know when making a purchasing decision going forward.
Our second attachment is related to Darley Safe Water Solutions. World Water Day was March 22nd and Kevin Sofen represented Darley at Current’s 2018 World Water Day Symposium in Chicago. This meeting had experts and leaders in the water industry discussing trends and brainstorming solutions for the growing clean water problems throughout the world. With around 1.9 billion people living in water-scarce areas Darley will continue to work with industry leaders to find solutions.
Finally, our third attachment is an article by John Buckman III called “13 Things that Make Fire Department Leaders Great.” He talks about the traits that make a good fire department leader, but really anyone in a leadership position can benefit from obtaining these traits.
