Hi I’m Paul Darley and thanks for watching our July issue of Inside Darley. Hope you had a wonderful Independence Day weekend!
June was an amazing month for us, we attended over 10 trade shows including our 10th annual Illinois Home Day and the European mega-show Intershutz. My biggest takeaway from Interschutz was the new technological advancements in firefighting that are both here and on the horizon.
To that end, we also attended the NFPA conference in Chicago last month. The focus of the conference was technology in firefighting, specifically the advent of ‘smart’ firefighting tech and what’s known as Cyber Physical Systems. A powerpoint from the conference and the NIST report on which is was based are attached here as downloads.
With all this new tech, a major hurdle is going to be cost. However if I think back just a few years ago when thermal imaging cameras were upwards of $25,000, compared to now when we are preparing to offer a new FLIR camera for only $1295. You can read more about these here on our eDarley blog. So those costs will decline over time.
Finally, here at Darley we pride ourselves on a strong sense of corporate social responsibility. In this spirit we are going to be hosting the upcoming Darley H2Open Golf Tournament in conjunction with the Rotary Club. Proceeds will benefit our ongoing efforts to provide clean water in Nepal with H2OpenDoors. You can learn more and register for the event here. You can make a donation here if you are unable to attend.
As always thanks for watching and please reach out if there is anything we can be doing to assist you.
