Darley standard water purification systems have been designed to provide safe drinking water, and the basic system operations allow for easy usage amongst a wide range of populations.

Purification Processes

Darley water purification systems are able to extract potable water of a quality from virtually freshwater and saline water source. The units use ultra-filtration or reverse osmosis depending on the level of pollution and the type of contaminants in the water source. All models can be adapted to local water conditions. The cleaning processes are as follows:

Pump Strainer: remove large particles and protect equipment from potential damage due to dirt and other particles that may be carried by the process fluid

Pre-filtration: Large particles are removed when the water passes through two or three filters (20 micron, 5 micron, and activated carbon)

Ultra-filtration: UF (0.01 micron) is used to remove essentially all colloidal particles from water and some of the largest dissolved contaminants. It is a mechanical separation process which has high effectiveness in removing microorganisms, particles, organic material, protozoa, bacteria, and viruses from a water stream.


Reverse Osmosis: RO has a pore size range of 0.001-0.0001 micron. It has very high effectiveness in removing E.coil, bacteria, Giardia and Cryptosporidium parasites, as well as removing the common chemical contaminants (metal ions, aqueous salts) including lead, copper, barium, chrome, mercury, nitrates, arsenic, sulfate, magnesium, and phosphorous etc.
