The Almena Fire Department serving the Towns of Almena, Arland, and Clinton is proud to be taking delivery of this new Darley AutoCAFS pumper with a CoPolymer “PolyBilt” body.
The vehicle was built on an International 4400 chassis with a 330 horsepower Maxx Force 9 engine and an Allison automatic 3000 EVS transmission. The fire pump is the Darley model LDMBC 1750 GPM featuring the AutoCAFS II pumping system plumbed to four (4) compressed air foam discharges. Class A foam is injected using the FoamPro 2001 and the stream is propelled using the 220 CFM rotary screw air compressor. The control panel is the Darley “Wrap-Around” with black vinyl coated aluminum material. Seven large compartments on this PolyBilt body all with ROM roll-up doors surround the integral CoPolymer 1000 gallon water tank and 25 gallon foam tank. The body has two (2) rear slide in compartments. One hoses three ladders and a couple pike poles while the other holds two hard suction hoses and a strainer. The rear compartment features all of the Fire Department’s extrication gear and is operated using a power unit plumbed to two (2) hydraulic hose reels. This rig also features a four (4) Fire Research Night Master telescoping lights with 1000 Watt light heads. Two are mounted on the back and two are mounted in the pump area and are all powered by a gasoline powered Honda EM5000SX generator in the right rear compartment. This vehicle also has a 6” rear suction plumbed through the tank to the fire pump for drafting operations.
